There are many ways to participate in the life of the School, even after the traditional school day ends. CDS' main auxiliary and enrichment programs include extended day care, off-day camp and summer programs.
Extracurricular classes, private musical instruction and after-school clubs are offered to provide enriching and fun learning opportunities.
Recent offerings have included:
Junior First Lego League
Arts and Crafts classes
Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops
Before and After Hours are supervised playtimes from 7:00 AM-8:00 AM and 3:30-6:00 PM every school day. A snack is included in the afternoon program. CDS students look forward to the opportunity to play board games, use the playground and gym for four-square and other games, and read. The older children are also given time and space to complete homework if they have it.
The Off Day Camp program is available for the Conference Days and the Faculty In-Service days as well as occasional half-day dismissals during the academic year. Children play board games, do arts and crafts, play kickball, play four-square, use the playground, and have access to the library and educational computer games. For fee information visit the CDS Tuition and Fees page.
