Kindergarten/First Grade Co-Teacher
Chesterfield Day School (www.chesterfielddayschool.org) is seeking a full-time Kindergarten / 1st Grade co-teacher for the 2014-2015 school year. The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic, bright, experienced team player who works effectively with students in the classroom and forms strong working relationships with parents. A Montessori preschool / pre-primary (ages 3-6) certification is strongly encouraged (AMS or AMI). Teachers not possessing this certification should have demonstrated experience in effectively teaching students of this age and a willingness to obtain a Montessori certification. Lower elementary (6-9) Montessori certification and Master's degree are preferred but not required. The ideal candidate must have an educational philosophy consistent with school’s philosophy (http://www.chesterfielddayschool.org/page.cfm?p=9). Experience with Orton Gillingham or similar approach is considered a plus but is not required.
The ideal candidate will partner with another co-lead teacher at Chesterfield Day School to form one of the school’s two kindergarten / 1st grade teaching teams.
