Welcome to Chesterfield Day School, located in Chesterfield, MO, in the West County suburbs of St. Louis. Our private alternative to public schools begins with exceptional Montessori early childhood classes for students as young as 18 months. Independent school education continues through sixth grade, with more traditional approaches and specialist classes for Spanish, physical education, art, music/band, technology and library studies. Extended day, extra-curricular offerings and a full array of summer programs are available for students from toddlers through sixth grade.

Our efforts, energies, and commitment are to provide each student at CDS a personalized education of unparalleled excellence.  We are a school which values diversity and recognizes that young children grow, mature, and develop at different rates.  Therefore we employ an approach that takes into account these individual and developmental differences. Our teachers employ a curricular strategy which guides children towards independence, a love of learning, and future success.  I believe there is no better educational approach to build the level of a child’s self-confidence and self-discipline than the one employed by the teachers in the classrooms at Chesterfield Day School.  Our unique blend of Montessori education at the early childhood level, combined with a gradual transition into a more traditional (yet still student-centered) approach at the upper elementary grades, is a successful approach proven with over 30 years of 6th grade graduates who demonstrate excellent academic skills, exceptional public speaking abilities, and a committed care and concern for others.

Chesterfield Day School educates and nurtures the “whole child.”  Great attention is paid to the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of each and every student. We strive to help children become cooperative, passionate, and curious human beings. Teachers are able to meet the individual needs of each student, while at the same time teaching students to work cooperatively toward common goals.
