Ashley Carr was born and raised in St. Louis. In 2001, she graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, emphasis in Ceramics, along with a double major in Education. Her teaching career began in Owasso, Oklahoma, teaching teach Middle School Art until she and her husband Matt returned to St. Louis in 2003. Since her return, Ashley has been creating, exhibiting, and selling glass art around St. Louis in addition to teaching. Ashley has been an art teacher at Green Park Lutheran Elementary School and Lutheran South High School, a substitute in the Parkway, Kirkwood, and Maplewood-Richmond Heights School Districts, and an art teacher at YUCANDU and Craft Alliance art studios. She is currently on staff with Chesterfield Arts and COCA, where she teaches visual art to students ranging in age from 3 years to adult. Recently, Ashley has opened her own custom art business, called Artsy Tots, which specializes in murals, decorative art, and clothing designed for children's spaces. Outside of art and teaching, Ashley and Matt keep busy with their children, Jack and Taylor.
